Conditions for angling in fisheries managed by the Czech Anglers
Czech Anglers Union offers to foreign anglers angling
possibilities in almost 2,300 fisheries (1,739 non-salmonid and 537 salmonid)
about the size 35,200 ha (31,900
non-salmonid and 33,00 ha salmonid).

Anglers from abroad who are interested in angling in the waters
of the Czech Anglers Union must arrange the state rod license and the angling
permit before they start angling. They must have these documents on their
person at all times, and they must present them to the fishery guard for
inspection upon request.

1) State rod license
This is the fee for the state authority. The state rod licence
does not authorize the holder for angling, but the angler has to keep this
document with him/her, together with the angling permit, and present it for
inspection upon request.
How can I obtain the state rod license?
Foreigners can purchase this rod license at the municipal
authority with extended power in the district in which they are staying.

document issued by the country in which they are citizens.

of the angling permit:

Board of Czech Anglers Union (eventually Czech Anglers Union - Council) or
a local organization of the Czech
Anglers Union, which is the most accessible for you.

2. There you will take a test
of angling knowledge and will receive a
certificate about qualifications required for issuance of the first state rod
certificate you need for the relevant municipal authority with extended scope,
where you fill in the application for issuance of the state rod license and
after payment of the administrative fee you receive the state rod license for
one year, three years, or 10 years. If you are planning to fish in the Czech
Republic in the foreseeable future, we recommend that you arrange the state rod
license for a period of 10 years.

2) Angling permit
The Czech Anglers Union issues only several types of angling
permits with varied scope and time of validity. The largest scope of validity
is the union-wide permit (valid in
all fisheries of the Czech Anglers Union), followed by regional permits of particular Regional Boards of the Czech Anglers
Union (valid in particular regions), and local
permits for particular fisheries.
According to the type of water, the permits are divided into
permits for non-salmonid fisheries, and
permits for salmonid fisheries.
Permits are sold according to the period of validity: one day, two days, seven days, 14 days, one
month, or one year.
How do I obtain the angling permit?
can purchase the permit at the relevant Regional Board of the Czech Anglers
Union according to the regions where they are interested in angling. The
Czech Anglers Union is divided into seven Regional Boards which manage
fisheries within the relevant areas. These are: Regional Board of the City of
Prague, Central Bohemian Regional Board, South-Bohemian Regional Board,
West-Bohemian Regional Board, North-Bohemian Regional Board, East-Bohemian
Regional Board, Regional Board for North Moravia and Silesia, and the
independent fishery is the Orlík Reservoir.

How much is the angling permit?
Prices of permits vary according to the type (non-salmonid,
salmonid), period (e.g. one day, two days, 14 days, etc.) and the scope of
validity (union-wide, regional or local). The pricelist of permits with

these points of sale the permits can be purchased at other permit dealers. More
