about the size 35,200 ha (31,900
non-salmonid and 33,00 ha salmonid).

Anglers from abroad who are interested in angling in the waters of the Czech Anglers Union must arrange the state rod license and the angling permit before they start angling. They must have these documents on their person at all times, and they must present them to the fishery guard for inspection upon request.
1. State rod license (fee for state authorities)
2. Angling permit (fee for the fishery manager)
1) State rod license
This is the fee for the state authority. The state rod licence
does not authorize the holder for angling, but the angler has to keep this
document with him/her, together with the angling permit, and present it for
inspection upon request.
How can I obtain the state rod license?
Foreigners can purchase this rod license at the municipal
authority with extended power in the district in which they are staying.
The
condition is the presentation of the certificate about required qualifications
for issuance of the first state rod license or presentation of an older state
rod license, and eventually presentation of the state rod license or similar
document issued by the country in which they are citizens.
The applicant can purchase the state rod license with a scope of validity for one year, three years, or 10 years.
If you have none of these documents, the following will be necessary for issuance of the angling permit:
1. Contact the relevant Regional
Board of Czech Anglers Union (eventually Czech Anglers Union - Council) or
a local organization of the Czech
Anglers Union, which is the most accessible for you.
(Contacts to Regional Boards (regions) can be found under the link Regional Boards. Contacts to the individual local organizations, which are divided according to the individual regional boards, can be found under the link Local Organizations.)
2. There you will take a test of angling knowledge and will receive a certificate about qualifications required for issuance of the first state rod license.
3. This certificate you need for the relevant municipal authority with extended scope, where you fill in the application for issuance of the state rod license and after payment of the administrative fee you receive the state rod license for one year, three years, or 10 years. If you are planning to fish in the Czech Republic in the foreseeable future, we recommend that you arrange the state rod license for a period of 10 years.

Union (valid in particular regions), and local
permits for particular fisheries.
According to the type of water, the permits are divided into
permits for non-salmonid fisheries, and
permits for salmonid fisheries.
Permits are sold according to the period of validity: one day, two days, seven days, 14 days, one month, or one year.
How do I obtain the angling permit?
Foreigners
can purchase the permit at the relevant Regional Board of the Czech Anglers
Union according to the regions where they are interested in angling. The
Czech Anglers Union is divided into seven Regional Boards which manage
fisheries within the relevant areas. These are: Regional Board of the City of
Prague, Central Bohemian Regional Board, South-Bohemian Regional Board,
West-Bohemian Regional Board, North-Bohemian Regional Board, East-Bohemian
Regional Board, Regional Board for North Moravia and Silesia, and the
